Celebrating the 5th Helsinki Burlesque Festival!

It might be dark as hell at the moment in Finland but that's about to change very very soon! The annual, Helsinki Burlesque Festival takes place in mid-February (13.-18.2012), but one can start getting in the mood already earlier!

You can also buy fabulous book about the Punainen mylly (Red Mill) - The Finnish Moulin Rouge
Oh, Burlesque in Helsinki exhibition gives a rare opportunity to see photos from the infamous, glamorous, funny and wild Red Mill revue of Helsinki from 1940s to 60s. The exhibition is located at Sokos Hotel Aleksanteri, Albertinkatu 34, Helsinki during 16.1-28.2.2012.

Here is a photo from the very first burlesque related shoot back in 2008, I think. It was taken at Pinkki Paplari  by Petra Maria Saarinen.

Another photo exhibition Glitter & Mayhem shows the fabulous 5 years of Helsinki Burlesque  during 27.1 - 24.2.2012 at the Jukka Male Museo, Cable Factory, Helsinki. What a wonderful chance to have a look at who what when where how aka the birth of Finnish burlesque scene.
